Sidney Crichton - JL OC

I've had this OC profiled for quite a while now - just haven't had any time to draw her T__T Since I have a DC villain I felt I also needed a superhero too! Plus lately I've been getting back into Justice League, which I watched when I was a teeny-bopper (Flash has always been my fave superhero! )

The first ref is her casual look and the second is her superhero outfit - based loosely around her gymnast wear For her hero outfit she also wears a plain grey eye-mask later on. Just a heads up for anyone who may want to start picking holes... I HAVEN'T read any comic books. My knowledge of the Justice League comes from what I remember/have re-watched of Cartoon Network's old animated series.


Name: Sidney Crichton.
Nicknames: Sid, Little Red.
Alias: Poltergeist.
Age: 23.
Hair colour: Dark red.
Eye colour: Brown.
Personality: She’s a known practical joker with a strong sense of humour, though her smart mouth often gets her into trouble. She’s good at bantering and making quips, but not so much when the joke’s on her. She rarely thinks things through and usually rushes ahead, though she always has people’s best interests in mind. She’s not very good at taking hints and can be quite slow on the uptake. She’s also easily distracted. Overall she’s a very upbeat, optimistic person and takes great pleasure in teasing those who can be quite negative. She loves anything sugary, though it tends to make her quite hyperactive. Her bubbly nature can make her come across as rather annoying to some people. She takes great delight in creating her superhero identity and constantly tries to come up with good aliases – before someone eventually suggested Poltergeist. She comes out with a lot of cliché lines that make everyone else cringe. She’s not very good at making friends because she can be a bit too loud and forward. She’s good at fighting and gymnastics when she concentrates, but if she loses her concentration she tends to be somewhat clumsy and accident-prone. She has tendencies to drop or break things and she also has a habit of not looking where she’s going. She tries to help out wherever she can and is happy to talk to anyone. She’s outgoing and can be a bit of a flirt, but she only ever sees it as harmless – the idea of actual commitment tends to send her running in the opposite direction.

Background: She discovered her power from quite a young age, though she never knew why she had it. She used to use it primarily to have fun and play jokes on other people. When she got older she became friends with a few members from one of the street gangs, and ended up becoming a spy for them. She’d use her ability to find out information about the other street gangs without being seen. But one day her concentration slipped and she was seen. The other gangs knew who she associated with and assumed it was a plot to try and corner them. There ended up being a huge gang fight on the street – several members of both sides were severely injured and even more were arrested, including two of Sidney’s friends. Being around the gangs had given her a confused idea of right and wrong, but after the fight she knew that she couldn’t trust her own judgement. She decided she wanted to do only good for people to make up for the mistakes she’d made, so she sought out the infamous Justice League with a plea to join. They were reluctant to allow it, but it certainly didn’t stop her from following them around and constantly badgering them. She practiced as a gymnast for almost eight years when she was younger and learnt how to fight by being amongst the street gangs. She has terrible eyesight and has to wear contact lenses – she’s completely useless without them.
Powers/skills: She can become invisible, but it takes most of her concentration. She can’t really fight or manoeuvre much whilst invisible and if something breaks her concentration she becomes visible again. She’s a good fighter from hanging around with street gangs and she used to be a gymnast, so she’s also good at climbing and acrobatics. She carries an extendable baton around as both a weapon and an aid for climbing. Her strength is average and her speed a little above.

Red Letter Day -CHAP.01--JUSTICELEAGUE-  “Aww come on, don’t be such a stick in the mud!”
  “For the last time, I said no!”
  Of course that didn’t bother me. I’d been snubbed seven times already. One more certainly wasn’t going to have any effect. People have told me I have selective hearing… I reckon I just hear the stuff that’s worth hearing. But apparently that’s 'the same thing'.
  I danced after the man in the black cape – the superhero who was currently trying to avoid me, since I’d cornered him after he’d assisted the police with a store robbery. As usual it didn’t deter me. I’d chase him for as long as I could. I’d been doing it every time I’d managed to find one of the members of the infamous Justice League.
  Unfortunately, I seemed to keep finding the miserable ones. They were a little harder to work with…
  “I can be of use to you, y’know,” I insisted as I chased after him
