Tamashi Harima - VK OC

Okay, so I've ended up doing quite a bit with Harry before even getting round to doing her profile! Happy to finally say though that here it is!

Yes, this is the lassie from my new Vampire Knight fanfic - "Angel From My Nightmare" I wanted to draw her in something other than the uniform. Here's some more info on her!


Name: Tamashi Harima.
Nicknames: Harry.
Age: 18.
Hair colour: Blonde.
Eye colour: Husky blue with a brown ring around one pupil (though she usually wears darker contacts).
Personality: Harry is very ambitious and has high expectations in life. She’s intelligent and good at problem-solving. Reading is her biggest pleasure and she always says she’ll have her own library room when she gets her own place. She likes order to the point of being obsessive-compulsive and is always extremely organised, though she’s still used to the chaos of her dysfunctional family and can deal well under pressure. She’s happy to take orders and follow rules, but she’s also good at taking charge. She’s always vigilant, often crossing over into being paranoid. She can be self-conscious about every aspect of her appearance, particularly her weight and her slightly mismatched eyes – she often wears contact lenses, but has to wear ones of a dark colour because she can’t get any as pale as her natural shade. She only eats organic food and is always counting calories. She’s good at physical combat since she grew up sparring with her older brother, and often still goes around with bruises from more recent practices. The only thing she fears is the unnatural – whatever she can’t explain and can’t control. She has suspicions about paranormal beings and despite her fear she researches into it in order to learn all that she can to protect herself. She’s good with mechanics and has a strong knowledge of both cars and firearms. She also has a love for motorcycles, since it’s her only guilty pleasure for feeling like she’s being daring and giving up some amount of control. She’s quite naïve when it comes to romance, having not had any experience with it.
Likes: Books, drawing, the sun, sparring, looking after people, organic food, ballroom dancing, playsuits, Shakespeare, silver jewellery, cars, firearms, motorcycles, mechanics, studying, order, the ocean, researching, The Lion King, nightlights, the colour turquoise.
Dislikes: The unnatural, being out of control, rollercoasters, horror movies, ghost stories, rain, her eyes, anything too sugary, gold, her weight, drinking alcohol, untidiness, fantasy and science fiction, creased clothes, Kindles, being alone in the dark, caffeine, book to movie adaptations.
Background: Harry always set high expectations for herself from a young age, feeling like she went unnoticed amongst her troublesome siblings. Her older brother still always gets into fights and is frequently fired from jobs, her twin brother was sent away to a juvenile detention centre for being constantly in trouble, her younger sister frequently starts screaming matches with their mother and their youngest brother has been slowly starting to pick up the family reputation of being the new troublemaker at school. Harry’s best friend growing up was called Tamaki and there were confusions over the similarities of their names, so they both used to by their surnames instead. Harima was then shortened to Harry and it caught on within her family as well. She’s only called by her given name when she’s in trouble, which isn’t that often compared to her other siblings.
Her father used to be a vampire hunter and worked with Kaien Cross several times, though none of his children ever knew this – he kept the knowledge about the existence of vampires secret from them in order to protect them. He retired after about twenty years of being a hunter. When Kaien Cross started Cross Academy he asked him to join as a Night Class teacher, which he accepted. After working there for two years and seeing that the Night Class students didn’t pose a threat, he decided to enrol Harry as a transfer student. He knew about her fear and knowledge of the unnatural and that she’d easily figure out the school’s real purpose. He believed that it would do her good to be around the beings that she fears.
Family: Mother – Ranka Kansai, father – Satoshi Harima, older brother – Hideki Harima, twin brother – Jo Harima, younger sister – Saki Harima, younger brother – Kei Harima.

   "Make sure you give her clearance at any time," Satoshi Harima – who frequently encouraged his Night Class students to refer to him more formally as Satti-san – told the guard on duty at the Night Class building. "She has long wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, slim, roughly average height… She starts here tomorrow."
   "You still sure this is a good idea?" the guard asked gruffly. Satoshi had explained the situation to him and that he'd already gotten the headmaster's permission for his daughter's permanent clearance to all of the school buildings.
   "Of course!" Satoshi replied brightly. "She's a smart girl – she'll figure out the school's purpose real quick. She won't like what she finds, but I'm certain it'll do her good in the long run."
   "If you say so, Mr. Harima," said the guard with a shrug. It wasn't really his business. He was just here to do what he was told.
